U.S. Route 30 Improvements
U.S. Route 30 leads southeast from Interstate 376, passing through Forest Hills, North Braddock, East Pittsburgh and North Versailles. As a major connector to the Interstate system, U.S. 30 serves as a commuter route for parts of the Mon Valley. The Mon Valley Economic Development Strategy recommends that U.S. 30 be improved between the I-376 interchange and State Route 148.

U.S. 30 roadway improvements are not currently listed on the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission’s Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and are not scheduled for implementation. Repairs to the Westinghouse Bridge and replacement of the US 30 Greensburg Pike Bridge and various bridges in North Braddock are scheduled on the TIP. All are part of the U.S. 30 corridor.
To promote U.S. 30 improvements, communities should build local interest in the project and collaboratively pursue funding to study the concept in greater detail. Work with Allegheny County Economic Development and contact SPC Commissioners for Allegheny County.
