State Route 130 Improvements
State Route 130 is part of the Tri-Boro Expressway connecting Turtle Creek and Wilmerding. It is also a connector to I-376 in Churchill. The Citizens’ Plan recommended that Route 130 be reconstructed and widened between Union Street in Turtle Creek and the intersection of 5th Avenue in Wilmerding. Select improvements to Route 130 were also recommended in The Mon Valley Commission Report.

Route 130 reconstruction and widening improvements are not currently listed on the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission’s Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and are not scheduled for implementation. Repairs to the Tri-Boro Expressway over the Turtle Creek Ramp and reconstruction of the Greensburg Pike Bridge, connecting to Route 130, are scheduled on the TIP.
To promote Route 130 improvements, communities should build local interest in the project and collaboratively pursue funding to study the concept in greater detail. Work with Allegheny County Economic Development and contact SPC Commissioners for Allegheny County.
