2035 Transportation and Development Plan for Southwestern Pennsylvania (Project Region) (2007)
The purpose of the 2035 Regional Vision Plan is to guide transportation and economic development projects throughout the ten-county southwestern Pennsylvania region. The Plan was developed through an extensive public process, called Project Region.
The 2035 Plan prioritizes the revitalization and redevelopment of existing communities, investment in infrastructure in coordinated/targeted corridors to optimize impact, and the development of industrial sites, especially well-situated brownfield locations. The plan was developed by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC), the region’s Metropolitan Planning Organization. The 2035 Plan is an attempt to integrate the region’s Long Range Transportation Plan and Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy into a single planning document. Published by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission in 2007. The Plan is available at: http://www.spcregion.org/trans_lrp.shtml.
